|Seven COVID-19 patients are released from a Hanoi hospital on August 31
Seven patients were released from Hanoi-based Central Hospital of Tropical Diseases, and the remaining five were allowed to return home from Da Nang Lung Hospital in central Vietnam, the ministry said.
One of the recovered patients is a 7-year-old girl from Bac Giang province, a gateway to Hanoi capital.
The patient was admitted to Central Hospital of Tropical Diseases after testing positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on August 5. She has since tested negative four times, showing no virus symptoms such as a fever, a cough or shortness of breath.
Following the discharge, all the 12 people will self-isolate at home for health monitoring for another 14 days to ensure they are completely safe from the virus.
Vietnam has so far registered 1,040 coronavirus infections, of whom 707 have been discharged and 33 have died.
