Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria presents letter of credence

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Nguyen Thanh Vinh on January 22 presented his credentials to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at a ceremony at El Mouradia Palace in Algiers.

At a reception for the newly-appointed ambassador following the ceremony, Algerian President Tebboune and Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum congratulated Vinh on his assumption of the new position.

The President pledged to provide all possible support for Vinh to fulfill his mission in Algeria and expressed his hope that the diplomat will make positive contributions to the development of the bilateral cooperation.

President Tebboune also praised Vietnam’s achievements in national development, particularly in the field of economy, noting that both nations have enjoyed a long-standing friendship and his nation desires to learn from Vietnam’s experience in economic development.

He suggested that the two countries should redouble their efforts to step up their friendship and all-around cooperation.

Vinh, for his side, said it is a great honour for him to be designated as the ambassador of Vietnam to Algeria.

Vietnam always treasures and wishes to reinforce its traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with the African country, he said while pledging his best effort to further strengthen the bilateral relations, especially in economics, trade and culture.

Earlier, Ambassador Vinh presented a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum.

During the meeting, Boukadoum said he is greatly impressed with Vietnam, saying that he will work with relevant Algerian ministries and agencies to further advance economic cooperation with the Southeast Asian nation in the time ahead.
