Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Vinh and his Venezuelan counterpart Ruben Dario Molina briefed each other on the situation in their respective countries and reached a consensus on continuing exchange visits and bilateral meetings.
They agreed to speed up the implementation of commitments made by senior leaders and improve effectiveness of bilateral trade and investment partnership along with joint projects on agriculture, national defence and science-technology.
Both sides consented to maintain the regular activities of the inter-governmental committee and political consultation between the two foreign ministries, and to continue working to fine-tune the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
They were unanimous in coordination to organize activities marking the 30th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2019.
The two diplomats also held a wide-ranging discussion on regional and international issues of mutual concern, and shared the view on settlement of disputes between nations by peaceful measures on the basis of respect for international law.
