RoK strengthens ties with Vietnam

(VOV) - The government and people of the Republic of Korea (RoK) want to foster the strategic cooperation partnership with Vietnam.

RoK President Park Geun-hye made the commitment at a reception in Seoul on December 18 for newly accredited Vietnamese ambassador Pham Huu Chi.

Park recalled her visit to Vietnam in September 2013 and thanked senior Vietnamese leaders for a warm welcome during her stay in the country.

She pledged to support Chi in fulfilling his mission in her country, significantly contributing to the fine RoK-Vietnam partnership.

Chi vowed to do his utmost to boost bilateral cooperation in all areas, especially in economics and trade.

He thanked the President for eying labour cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK, hoping both sides will sign a new agreement on re-sending Vietnamese workers to the RoK.

Chi is the sixth Vietnamese ambassador to the RoK since the two countries established diplomatic ties in December 22, 1992.
