PM to attend 26th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Papua New Guinea

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is due to attend the 26th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea over November 17-18 at the invitation of the host's Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.

Vietnam successfully hosted the 25th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central city of Da Nang from November 10-11, 2017. This was the most important external event of the nation during the APEC Year 2017, with leaders from the 21 member economies in attendance.

The APEC Year 2017 helped raise Vietnam's standing and affirm its contributions to building multilateral mechanisms to actualize the common goals of building an Asia-Pacific region of peace, stability, dynamism, connectivity and prosperity.

Established in 1989, APEC consists of 21 economies, including Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.
