Cambodian defence officers visit Soc Trang province

VOV.VN - Lieutenant General Yong Mao, deputy director of the Development Department under Cambodia’s Ministry of Defence, and other officers on October 10 paid a working visit to the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang.

Yong Mao expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese army and people for supporting his nation over the past time, saying Cambodia always bear in mind the valuable assistance of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers that helped liberate Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime.

He also briefed local leader on the border security and the situation of overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia.

Both sides compared notes on opportunities for future economic cooperation between Cambodia’s Development Department and Soc Trang province.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ngo Hung said the locality pays heed to programmes and policies to take care of poor households, especially the Khmer people while expressing his hope that Cambodia’s Development Department will give more support to Vietnamese expats.
