Indonesia arrests three suspected IS-linked militants

Indonesian police have arrested three men suspected of being linked to Islamic State (IS).

According to Indonesian police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar, the suspects had planned a bomb attack during the fasting month of Ramadan in the world's most populous Muslim nation.

The men were arrested late on June 8 in Surabaya – the country's second-largest city; with bomb-making materials, guns and a suicide-bomb vest, he said, adding that their target was the police.

Indonesian authorities are on high alert after an attack in the centre of Jakarta in January, which killed eight people, including the four attackers.
