WTA 2023 reveals list of Top 10 leading hotels in Vietnam
VOV.VN - The 2023 World Travel Awards (WTA 2023) honoured Vietnam’s leading 10 hotels from across the country at an awards ceremony recently held in Ho Chi Minh City.
One of the establishments to feature in the list was Hotel de la Coupole - MGallery in Sa Pa in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai.
The hotel picked up awards in several different categories, such as “Vietnam's Leading Luxury Hotel”, “Asia's Leading Design Hotel”, and “The iconic hotel of the world 2019”.
The site boasts thousands of fashion paintings, antique chests, fur coats, and necklaces with patterns of Northwest ethnic groups which honour the cultural values of ethnic minorities in Vietnam. The furniture here is either antique or designed by skilled interior designers Aood & Ord, and crafted by Vietnamese artisans. This makes the hotel a place of cultural interaction between France and the highland culture of ethnic minorities such as the H’Mong, Dao, Xa Pho, Tay, Giay, and so on. Rooms cost from VND2.9 million, equal to US$121, a night.
Elsewhere, InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72, the tallest luxury five-star hotel in Hanoi, won in Vietnam’s Leading Business Hotel category at WTA 2023. This marks the third time that it has been honoured with the prestigious prize.
The hotel first opened in 2017 in Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower in Cau Giay district of the capital with 359 luxury rooms and 34 suites. Rooms cost from VND6.6 million, equal to US$275, a night.
Azerai La Residence in the former imperial capital of Hue has won the title of “Vietnam’s leading boutique hotel” for two consecutive years.
Set on a two-and-a-half-hectare site with 200 metres of frontage on the Huong (Perfume) River, the hotel features 122 rooms built in a colonial style.
The mansion at the heart of Azerai La Residence was built during the 1930s for the French Resident Superieure. It is notable for its distinctive facade, long horizontal lines, and nautical flourishes which represent hallmarks of the streamline modern school of art deco.
It is situated not far from the Imperial Citadel, An Dinh Palace, and Dong Ba Market.
Rooms cost from VND4.1 million, equal to US$171, a night.
Rounding off the list as selected by WTA 2023 is the Imperial Hotel in the southern city of Vung Tau of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Park Hyatt Saigon in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, the InterContinental Residences Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, Melia Vinpearl Hue in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, SOJO Hotel Ga Hanoi in Hoan Kiem district of the capital, and Novotel Danang Premier Han River in the central city of Da Nang.
The WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries.
The award has been dubbed "the Oscar of the travel industry" by the Wall Street Journal, with businesses and destinations honoured enjoying numerous implications for the cause of national tourism development.
