“Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City” tourism campaign launched
VOV.VN - A ceremony was held on April 8 to kick off the "Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City” campaign, with the programme aiming to connect Vietnamese diplomatic missions across various countries to rapidly restore the international tourism market.
The event was attended by nearly 200 representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, diplomatic agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, numerous travel firms, and more than 50 Vietnamese representative agencies based abroad.
During the ceremony, Vietnamese ambassadors in Australia, Israel, Hungary, and other countries suggested local firms to organise seminars abroad and strengthen connectivity with overseas communities.
They encouraged domestic businesses conduct surveys on the tastes of travelers of each country to design suitable programmes to attract foreign visitors to the city moving forward.
Furthermore, the southern metropolis's tourism sector has been recommended to compile new handbooks detailing Ho Chi Minh City tourism in many languages as a way of providing tourists with updated information.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, expressed her hope that with the support of ambassadors and diplomatic missions based abroad, the image of Ho Chi Minh City will be further promoted in the future.
At the event, the municipal department of tourism and relevant agencies signed a joint plan to implement the HCM City’s MICE Tourism Program for the 2022 to 2025 period.
