130 US tourists make their first visit to HCM City

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City hosted a welcome ceremony for a big group of 130 tourists from the United States at the Vietnam History Museum on April 8.

The guests, primarily made up of US business people, who made the first visit to HCM City were offered a number of attractive gifts and preference regarding accommodation, and food and shopping vouchers by local travel enterprises.

The trip was co-organised by Citslinc International, Inc, a leading US travel business based in North America, along with Asia Charm Tours, one of the leading travel agencies and tour operators in the Vietnamese market.

In his speech at the welcome ceremony, Duong Anh Duc, vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, expressed his sincere thanks to the US visitors for choosing the city as the first destination on their trip to the Southeast Asian nation.

According to Duc, to meet the travel demand and secure the southern city’s position as one of the top tourist destinations in the country, the city is making every effort to develop unique tourism products for visitors to discover an Eastern metropolis on the path of modernization and integration, while striving to retain its own identities as a way of promoting an image of a safe and appealing destination.

The major target is to develop Ho Chi Minh City into a leading vibrant tourist city in Asia, where visitors can experience different values of cultural heritage and lifestyle in a smart and dynamic city, he went on to say.

A representative from Citslinc also thanked municipal leaders for their warm welcome, while saying that the company is poised to bring tourists from the US and Canada to the city in the near future with a view to creating optimal conditions for them to enjoy sightseeing activities and seek investment opportunities as well.

The arrival of the US delegation this time shows positive signs of Vietnam’s reopening of international tourism, with the southern metropolis considered a destination of interest to international travelers and this is also a signal that demonstrates the city's tireless tourism promotion efforts in recent times.
