Vietnam ranks among Top 3 most popular destinations for APAC travelers

VOV.VN - Vietnam has been named among the three most-searched destinations by travelers in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, according to Southeast Asia’s leading travel platform Traveloka.

Based on data from the EPIC Sale 2025 held from April 11 to May 5, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam were the top destinations searched by millions of users. The campaign offered discounts of up to 60% on flights, accommodations, and experiences.

Launched across seven key APAC markets, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, and Australia, the EPIC Sale not only provided exclusive travel deals but also highlighted shifting preferences in regional tourism.

Traveloka noted that travelers are increasingly seeking short breaks during long weekends and school holidays, with strong interest in destinations offering cultural experiences, nature retreats, and family-friendly activities.

Aside from the top three, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore also remained popular among APAC users. For outbound travel, destinations with the highest search volume included Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, Taiwan (China), Vietnam, and China.

Domestically, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Hue continued to draw strong interest from Vietnamese tourists. Leisure travel and staycations are on the rise, driven by demand for nearby destinations with flexible itineraries.

Among domestic options, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, and Da Lat were favored for short getaways, typically three days and two nights, offering opportunities to relax, enjoy local cuisine, and explore with family.

During the EPIC Sale, the five most-booked types of accommodation by Vietnamese travelers were hotels, resorts, apartments, villas, and guesthouses. Traveloka said this trend indicates growing demand for flexible lodging to suit various needs, from solo trips to family vacations.
