RoK and China lead as top tourism sources for Vietnam in four months
VOV.VN - China led the way for international source markets of Vietnam with 1.95 million arrivals in the first four months of this year, followed closely by the Republic of Korea (RoK) with 1.5 million, according to Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT).

The two markets contributed over 3.45 million visitors, making up 46% of total foreign arrivals to the country.
Other significant tourism sources for Vietnam during this period included Taiwan (China), the United States, Japan, Australia, India, Malaysia, and Thailand. Notably, Cambodia entered the top 10 with 280,000 visitors.
European markets also demonstrated steady growth, particularly those benefiting from Vietnam's visa-waiver programme, such as the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Sweden.
Most notably, Russia stood out as a key growth market, with over 166,000 visitors in four months, more than double the number from the same period in 2024. Russian arrivals now account for over 70% of the total for the entire year of 2024, making Russia the fastest-growing international source market for Vietnam’s tourism industry.
The VNAT shared that thanks to flexible visa policies, Vietnam is becoming a bright spot on the world tourism map, quickly rising to be one of top choices for tourists from all over the world.
In addition, the global search volume for tourist accommodations in Vietnam has increased by 10% to 25% since the start of the year, ranking seventh in the world for growth in destination searches, according to data from Google Destination Insights.
Vietnam is the only Southeast Asian country to make the Top 10, surpassing regional competitors like the Philippines (18th), Singapore (25th), Thailand (36th), Indonesia (37th), and Malaysia (39th).
The Top 10 most searched Vietnamese destinations were Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Vung Tau, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, and Hue. Notably, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh saw the highest growth in search volume, with an increase of over 75%.
The United States led the international interest in travel information about Vietnam, followed by India, Australia, Japan, Singapore, the Republic of Korea (RoK), the UK, Taiwan (China), Malaysia, and Hong Kong (China).
