Vietnam named among Asia’s top repeat travel destinations
VOV.VN - Vietnam has been named one of Asia’s most revisited countries, with the central coastal city of Da Nang breaking into Agoda’s Repeat Visitor Ranking Top 10 for the first time.

According to digital travel platform Agoda, Da Nang joins other iconic Asian destinations like Tokyo (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand), and Bali (Indonesia) as a city travelers return to most often. Notably, no Vietnamese cities made the list in 2024, highlighting a remarkable rise in Vietnam’s tourism appeal over the past year.
Based on booking data from the first half of the year, the ranking also shows Vietnam as one of the top countries for repeat travelers, just behind Japan and Thailand, and ahead of Malaysia and Indonesia.
In addition to Da Nang, Agoda revealed, four other Vietnamese localities - Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Phu Quoc Island – were also drawing significant numbers of returning visitors.
“Coastal favorites like Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc continue to draw visitors back with their sun-soaked beaches, laid-back charm, and inviting resorts. Meanwhile, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City captivate return guests with their dynamic energy, rich history, and vibrant culinary scenes, offering the perfect balance between relaxation and cultural exploration”, it stresses.
Agoda’s data suggests that travelers aren’t just returning once, they’re coming back multiple times within the same year. The platform highlights that this trend reflects the “magnetic pull” of destinations that offer memorable experiences, unique charm, and emotional connection.
“Vietnam’s emergence as a top destination for return travelers in Asia reflects the country’s diverse and evolving appeal. From vibrant urban hubs to stunning coastal escapes, Vietnam offers compelling experiences that keep visitors coming back”, Vu Ngoc Lam, country director at Agoda shares.
Other popular return destinations included Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Bali (Indonesia), Osaka (Japan), Taipei (China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Johor Bahru (Malaysia), and Hong Kong (China).
