Hanoi listed among Asia’s top walkable cities by Agoda
VOV.VN - Digital travel platform Agoda has named Hanoi one of Asia’s top seven cities to explore on foot, highlighting its compact layout and pedestrian-friendly streets.

According to Agoda, “from cobblestone streets to scenic riversides,” the selected destinations offer ideal conditions for walking, allowing visitors to truly immerse themselves in local culture. Topping the list, Hanoi’s Old Quarter is described as “a labyrinth of narrow streets brimming with history and culture.”
“French colonial architecture, ancient temples, and vibrant street markets create a dynamic backdrop for exploration. The area’s pedestrian-friendly layout makes it easy to wander and discover local delicacies like Pho and Bánh mì from street vendors,” Agoda noted.
It added, “The Old Quarter’s charm lies in its ability to surprise, with hidden cafés, serene pagodas, and bustling markets around every corner.”
Other cities on the list include Kurashiki (Japan), Chiang Khan (Thailand), Melaka (Malaysia), Pondicherry (India), Gyeongju (Republic of Korea), and Taipei (China).

Agoda also released its list of top destinations for “slow travel” in Asia, with Vietnam’s coastal city of Nha Trang ranked as the top choice for travelers seeking a relaxed pace.
“Slow travel provides the ideal opportunity to fully immerse in a destination, allowing time to create meaningful connections with its culture, cuisine, and people,” the platform explained.
Agoda described Nha Trang as “a haven for beach lovers who want to take their time soaking up the sun and sea,” adding that “beyond its beaches, Nha Trang offers a wealth of experiences, from exploring the ancient Po Nagar Cham Towers to indulging in rejuvenating mud baths. Nha Trang’s laid-back vibe makes it an ideal spot for slow travel.”
Across nine Asian markets, Agoda data showed Rayong (Thailand) as the top destination for longest stays. Other locations favored by slow travelers include Kalegowa (Indonesia), Seoul, Tokyo, Boracay, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, and Chennai.
In Vietnam, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City emerged as top choices for extended stays, while Vietnamese travelers heading abroad tend to spend the most time in Chiang Mai.
