Vietnam Airlines to lease aircraft with crew to meet Tet travel demand
VOV.VN - Vietnam Airlines plans to wet lease three additional Airbus A320 aircraft to meet the increased travel demand during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) from January 13 to February 12.
Vietnam Airlines will receive three additional Airbus A320 aircraft through wet leasing arrangements to meet the increased travel demand during the upcoming Tet holiday. The first aircraft is scheduled to land at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on January 10, with the remaining two arriving on January 13.
These aircraft, each with a capacity of 180 passengers, will operate on routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, and Chu Lai.
The leasing is expected to add around 75,000 seats, or more than 400 flights, during the Tet period.
This move is part of Vietnam Airlines' plan to provide over 2.15 million seats on domestic flights to meet the growing demand during the holiday season.
In December 2024, the airline also received three additional aircraft, including two Airbus A320neo and one Boeing 787-10 wide-body aircraft.
The new aircraft leasing by the end of the year is aimed at addressing rising travel demand and enhancing service quality, ensuring a comfortable and modern travel experience for passengers.
