Vietnam Airlines among top 10 most punctual carriers in Asia Pacific: Cirium
VOV.VN - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has been ranked among the top 10 most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific region for 2024, according to Cirium, an aviation data analytics company and a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Cirium revealed that the Vietnamese airline managed to secure the sixth spot with the on-time performance (OTP) of 76.7% in 2024, a three-place increase compared to the previous year.
Other airlines to make the regional top six were Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, and Thai AirAsia.
Moreover, according to statistics released by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), the national flag carrier also achieved an OTP of approximately 82% last year, with this figure being much higher than the average rate of 73.7% for the entire aviation industry.
Dang Anh Tuan, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines, shared that moving forward the airline will continue to optimise operations with a particular focus on applying modern technologies in a bid to improve punctuality, while also providing passengers with the best experience possible to affirm the position of the Vietnamese aviation industry in the international market.
Vietnam Airlines was also placed ninth position in Cirium’s list of most punctual carriers in Asia Pacific in 2023.
