Vietnam Airlines to launch first direct flight between Vietnam and Denmark
VOV.VN - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is set to inaugurate the first-ever direct air route between Vietnam and Denmark, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Copenhagen, starting December 15, 2025.
This will be the only non-stop flight currently available between the two countries, marking a strategic step in the airline’s international expansion and creating a new air bridge between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Copenhagen route will operate three times per week using the modern wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
With a flexible schedule and convenient connections, Vietnam Airlines aims to meet the growing demand for travel, business, and family visits between the two regions, especially among the more than 70,000 Vietnamese expatriate living in Nordic countries.
"The launch of the direct route from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen reflects our continued efforts to expand our European network, particularly in the promising Nordic market. This is not only an opportunity to deepen our global connectivity, but also a strong commitment to bringing the image of Vietnam closer to international friends," said Dang Anh Tuan, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines.
With this strategic move, Vietnam Airlines will strengthen its footprint in the Nordic region, a market with high travel demand year-round, and will continue to elevate the international profile of the national flag carrier.
In 2025, Vietnam Airlines plans to open and resume 15 international routes to many key markets such as Italy, Russia, China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Japan, the Republic of Korea, and India. These routes aim not only to promote trade and tourism but also to help achieve Vietnam’s goal of welcoming 22 - 23 million international visitors.
To celebrate the new route launch, Vietnam Airlines is offering promotional round-trip fares from just VND20,999,000 (taxes and fees included) for tickets purchased from now until July 15, 2025, applicable to flights departing in December.
