Vietnam Airlines launches tourism promotions to boost Vietnam’s global profile
VOV.VN - Vietnam Airlines, in coordination with the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, has launched nearly 140 tourism promotion activities, aimed at strengthening Vietnam’s presence in key domestic and international markets and supporting two-way tourism growth.
The initiative was announced at a press conference in Hanoi on February 2 introducing the National Tourism Year Gia Lai 2026 and tourism promotion plans for the year.
The national flag carrier said the activities would include travel fairs, roadshows, familiarisation trips and other promotional events in major markets such as Europe, Australia, Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, as well as across Vietnam.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Nguyen Quang Trung, deputy director of Vietnam Airlines, emphasised the airline considers promoting Vietnam’s image, culture and tourism an important responsibility.
By expanding connectivity between destinations, markets and international partners, the carrier aims to help enhance Vietnam’s position on the global tourism map, he said.
As part of the programme, Vietnam Airlines and the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding, reaffirming their strategic partnership for National Tourism Year – Gia Lai 2026. The agreement focuses on enhancing air connectivity, improving tourist access to Gia Lai, and developing high-quality, safe, and attractive tourism products.
Both parties also agreed to strengthen communication and promotional coordination, positioning Gia Lai as a distinctive destination of the Central Highlands and Vietnam through media ecosystems, international networks, and domestic and overseas promotional activities.
Vietnam Airlines said the cooperation supports local tourism development and economic growth and could serve as a model for collaboration between the national carrier and local authorities.
The promotion activities are being rolled out as Vietnam’s tourism industry steps up efforts to expand markets and improve global competitiveness.
Vietnam Airlines said it has organised about 1,500 cultural and tourism promotion events at home and abroad over more than 30 years, reaching nearly 40 million customers in 32 countries and territories.
