Vietnam Airlines increases Hanoi-Dien Bien flights during Ban Flower Festival 2026
VOV.VN - Vietnam Airlines will increase flights between Hanoi and Dien Bien province in March to meet rising travel demand during the 2026 Ban Flower Festival and strengthen connectivity with Vietnam’s northwestern region.
The national flag carrier will add round-trip flights on March 19, 21, 22, 24 and 26. Additional flights are also scheduled on March 6 and 8 during the main festival period, departing around midday and in the afternoon to make it easier for visitors to attend festival activities.
Vietnam Airlines currently operates two daily flights on the Hanoi-Dien Bien route. The additional flights in March are arranged based on travel demand and operating conditions, helping maintain stable air links between the capital and Dien Bien province.
Le Hong Ha, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vietnam Airlines, said maintaining routes to local destinations is not only about meeting travel demand but also part of the national carrier’s responsibility in enhancing regional connectivity and supporting socio-economic development.
“Vietnam Airlines regularly works with local authorities to increase flights during periods of growing demand, thus helping promote tourism, trade and development opportunities for local people,” Ha said.
With a domestic network covering 22 civilian airports nationwide, Vietnam Airlines operates several routes that play an important role in regional connectivity and local economic development.
The airline also works with localities to increase capacity during peak travel periods such as major holidays, cultural events and major investment promotion activities.
In the coming period, alongside plans to expand its fleet and develop its markets, Vietnam Airlines will continue reviewing flight frequencies as infrastructure conditions allow in order to meet travel demand more effectively.
