Two Vietnamese dishes named in TasteAtlas’ Top 100 noodle list
VOV.VN - International food website TasteAtlas has ranked Bún bò nam bộ (Southern Vietnamese beef noodle salad) and Phở bò ((Beef noodle soup) among the world’s Top 100 noodle dishes.
Bún bò nam bộ (Southern Vietnamese beef noodle salad) ranks fifth globally. The traditional dish includes beef, rice vermicelli noodles, garlic, fresh herbs, and vegetables as its main ingredients, while roasted peanuts and fried shallots are entirely optional. The noodles, vegetables, and herbs are arranged in bowls, while the beef is stir-fried and added on top.
It is followed by Phở bò (Beef noodle soup), placing the 6th position in the list. The dish features various beef cuts and toppings, including thinly sliced brisket (gầu), flank, eye-round steak, tripe, rare and cooked beef (tái nạm), tendon (gân), and beef meatballs (phở bò viên).
TasteAtlas also highlights Vietnamese noodle dishes widely enjoyed across the country, such as Mì Quảng (Quang-style noodles), standing at 12th globally, Phở bò tái chín (Northern Vietnamese beef noodle soup) at 14th, Bún chả (Grilled pork meatballs with vermicelli noodles), 16th, and Bún thịt nướng (Grilled Pork and Rice Vermicelli), 19th.
Topping the list is Yokohama-Style Ramen of Japan. Others in Top 5 are Khao soi of Thailand, Tonkotsu ramen of Japan, and Lanzhou lamian of China.
