Three Quang Ninh awardees honoured at ASEAN Tourism Awards 2026

VOV.VN - Three entities from Quang Ninh province were recognised at the ASEAN Tourism Awards 2026, presented during the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026, held in Cebu, the Philippines, from January 27 to 31.

Overall, Vietnam had 25 awardees across multiple categories, including the ASEAN Green Hotel Award, the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award, the ASEAN MICE Venue Award and the fifth ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award, themed “Environmentally Friendly Tourism Destinations.”

Quang Ninh’s awardees included the People’s Committee of Co To Special Administrative Unit, which received the ASEAN Environmentally Friendly Tourism Destination Award 2026; Legacy Yen Tu – MGallery, which was presented with the ASEAN Green Hotel Award 2026; and Royal Halong Hotel, which won the ASEAN MICE Venue Award in the meeting room category.

The results underscore Quang Ninh’s continued focus on developing tourism along green and sustainable lines, while highlighting efforts by local authorities and businesses to improve service quality and support environmental protection.

Alongside the awards programme, a Quang Ninh delegation took part in promotional and partnership-building activities at ATF 2026, aimed at advancing heritage-route linkages between Quang Ninh and Cebu in the coming period.

Representatives of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also held working sessions with international media partners to discuss destination promotion and expand cooperation with global travel networks, supporting wider outreach for Quang Ninh and Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2026.

In 2025, Quang Ninh welcomed more than 21.28 million visitors, including 4.5 million international arrivals, generating total tourism revenue of around VND 57 trillion. For 2026, the province targets 22 million visitors and revenue of VND 65 trillion, with an emphasis on quality growth, sustainability and deeper international integration.
