Quang Ninh welcomes international delegates following National Day celebration
VOV.VN - A delegation of 52 international guests from 20 countries and territories visited northern Quang Ninh province on September 3, after attending the grand parade in Hanoi marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
The delegation included representatives of people’s organizations, friendship associations, non-governmental organizations, and long-standing partners of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO).
At a reception, Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, introduced the province’s strengths, highlighting its two UNESCO World Heritage sites – Ha Long Bay and the Yen Tu–Vinh Nghiem–Con Son, Kiep Bac complex.
She noted that the visit would help deepen ties between Quang Ninh and international friends and pave the way for future cooperation. After the courtesy meeting, the delegation toured Ha Long Bay to gain deeper experiences and understanding, while expressing their support for Vietnam’s land, culture, and natural landscapes.
Quang Ninh boosts cruise tourism to lure international visitors
Despite challenges from Typhoon Yagi, the northern province of Quang Ninh, home to UNESCO-recognised natural heritage Ha Long Bay, welcomed 19 million tourists, including 3.8 million foreigners, in 2024, with cruise travelers making a significant contribution.
