Phu Tho hosts international tour operators on survey trip, boost market expansion

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Tourism Association and the Phu Tho Tourism Association, in coordination with relevant units, on April 8 hosted a delegation of international tour operators to survey services and connect markets, as the province aims to become a distinctive, friendly and attractive destination on the regional and international tourism map.

Located at a gateway linking the northern midland and mountainous region with Hanoi and the Red River Delta, and close to Noi Bai International Airport with a convenient inter-regional transport system, Phu Tho is well placed to participate more deeply in international tourism routes. The province serves as a “root destination” and a key link in the northern inter-regional tourism value chain.

As part of the programme, the delegation directly surveyed prominent destinations and services such as the Hung Kings Temple historical site, Hung Lo communal house, Tam Dao, Tay Thien and Dai Lai, while exploring distinctive cultural values including Xoan singing and the making of banh chung (Vietnamese traditional sticky rice cake).

In the evening of the same day, domestic and international tourism businesses joined promotion activities, meetings and networking in Viet Tri.

In his speech, provincial Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Hieu said Phu Tho is oriented to develop tourism into an important economic sector, aiming to build Phu Tho into a national centre for distinctive cultural and festival tourism, while also being a leading destination for root, spiritual, ecological and resort tourism in the northern region, and a tourism growth pole to the west of Hanoi.

He stressed that the province focuses on building a safe, friendly and professional tourism environment, accelerating digital transformation, improving product quality and visitor experience, and creating favourable conditions for businesses in cooperation, investment and market development.

Through the survey, international tour operators gained a clearer understanding of the cultural depth and appeal of the ancestral land, while identifying Phu Tho as a diverse destination combining cultural and spiritual heritage with mountain, eco and golf resort products in nearby areas, thus opening up opportunities to develop products suited to various international market segments.

According to Nguyen Ngoc Lan, Chairman of the Phu Tho Tourism Association, the locality is gradually promoting the effective use of its resources and shaping competitive highlights, notably spiritual tourism associated with the Hung Kings worship belief, high-quality resort and sports tourism, and community-based cultural tourism. These elements are being linked into a diverse tourism ecosystem, creating momentum for economic growth and enhancing local value.

He expressed hope that participants in the famtrip will serve as a bridge to bring international visitors to Phu Tho, where tourists can experience distinctive products while feeling the friendliness and hospitality of local people and the support of local government and service providers.

In the time ahead, the Phu Tho Tourism Association will continue to enhance resource connectivity and shape a common direction for the tourism business community, improve service quality without developing low-cost, low-quality tourism, and expand markets while seeking partners at home and abroad to build a stable visitor base.
