Phu Quoc named among Asia’s top three islands by Travel + Leisure
VOV.VN - US travel magazine Travel + Leisure has announced the winners of its Luxury Awards Asia-Pacific 2025, with Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island listed among the top three destinations in the Best Islands category, as voted by readers.

Phu Quoc, the largest island in Vietnam, is renowned for its pristine beaches, including Bai Kem and Bai Sao. It also boasts a diverse ecosystem and offers visitors a rich blend of cultural and historical experiences.
According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, the island welcomed over 4.5 million visitors in the first five months of 2025, up 33.3% year-on-year, reaching 61.1% of its annual target. This includes nearly 900,000 international arrivals, a sharp increase of 76.7% compared to the same period last year, underscoring Phu Quoc’s growing global appeal.

In this year’s awards, Phu Quoc was the only Vietnamese representative to make the top rankings, finishing behind Bali (Indonesia) and Koh Samui (Thailand). The rest of the list included Palawan (The Philippines), Phuket (Thailand), Langkawi (Malaysia), Sri Lanka, and Sumba (Indonesia).
