Phu Quoc launches rapid response team, multilingual QR system
VOV.VN - The People’s Committee of the Phu Quoc special zone on February 26 launched a tourism rapid response team, introduced a multilingual QR code system and signed a tourism code of conduct to strengthen market discipline and rebuild trust among domestic and international visitors.
Tran Minh Khoa, Chairman of the Phu Quoc special zone People’s Committee, said the team was established to promptly rectify violations of business ethics and gradually eliminate price gouging, solicitation and non-transparent pricing and accommodation information. The aim is to build a safe, orderly and transparent tourism environment that places visitors at the centre while balancing the interests of businesses, local residents and tourists.
Operating 24/7, the rapid response team will receive and classify visitor complaints and be present at sites to assist in handling cases related to pricing, service quality, security, public order and visitor safety. It will guide visitors on procedures in accordance with the law, help locate lost property, provide initial first aid and coordinate with competent authorities when necessary.
The team is authorised to request the immediate suspension of violations at the scene, such as harassment or assaults on visitors, while awaiting handling by relevant agencies.
The multilingual QR code system has been launched to provide information and receive feedback online, helping international visitors access services more easily. The tourism code of conduct was signed as a pledge by businesses and residents to uphold a transparent and civilized business environment.
Khoa said the measures are intended to meet public expectations, strengthen visitor confidence and prepare for the APEC 2027 High-Level Week, an international event for which Phu Quoc has been selected as the host location.
Ho Van Mung, Chairman of the An Giang provincial People’s Committee, commended the special zone administration for its proactive and decisive actions, saying the shift from case-by-case handling to establishing a governance mechanism through technology and dedicated personnel is the right direction.
He urged that the new models be implemented in the daily operations of restaurants, hotels, tourist sites and travel companies, and affirmed that the province will continue to provide resources to help Phu Quoc upgrade infrastructure and better manage tourism resources and the local environment.
Provincial leaders called on businesses and residents to help build a transparent, decent and professional tourism image for Phu Quoc, with each enterprise and citizen acting as a tourism ambassador.
