Passengers passing through Noi Bai International Airport surge

According to statistics, the airport welcomed more than one million passengers with more than 7,000 flights running during the initial 12 days of June, up 3% against the same period from last year.

However, the domestic flight volume at the airport decline by 15% against last year’s corresponding period. Most notably, on June 11 the volume of passengers witnessed a strong level of growth with more than 103,000 passengers and over 620 flights.

Based on the airline's plan to increase flights, Noi Bai airport is forecast to receive roughly 109,000 passengers, including nearly 29,000 international arrivals and 80,000 domestic visitors during the peak day of this summer with over 620 flights.

The passenger volume stands at about 38% higher than usual and 15% higher than the summer peak of last year.

This increase can be attributed to the rise in the international flight volume at Noi Bai airport compared to the summer of 2022, while the domestic flight volume remained at a stable level.

NIA representative said the airport has proactively devised plans aimed at preparing a sufficient number of backup counters so ensure that airlines can increase flights during the peak period.

Passengers are encouraged to download and use the iNIA application on their smart phones to track flight information, flight times, flight dates, check-in counters, and departure gates, as well as strictly monitoring flight information at announcement screens to promptly update any changes.
