My Tho Marina welcomes largest-ever international tourist group

VOV.VN - My Tho Marina in Dong Thap province, in southern Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, received its largest international tourist group to date on May 4, with about 1,000 visitors from Indonesia.

The marina organised a traditional Vietnamese welcome, with visitors greeted by a lion dance performance on arrival, a traditional cultural feature showing the hospitality of local people.

The group then boarded boats to visit typical tourist sites on Thoi Son Islet in Thoi Son ward, where they experienced rowing boat rides, sampled fruit and honey tea, and enjoyed don ca tai tu (southern folk music) along with garden tourism activities.

The reception of a group of about 1,000 international visitors is seen as a positive sign for the international tourism market and shows the appeal of river tourism in the Mekong Delta, including Dong Thap.

As the tourism sector continues to recover, the visit is expected to help attract more visitors from Southeast Asia and support tourism growth in Dong Thap this year.
