Local airlines plan to resume flights to China
VOV.VN - Vietnamese airlines are planning to resume flights to China following the Chinese Government moving to ease COVID-19 restrictions.
This will see the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines reopen air routes such as Hanoi-Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City-Guangzhou and Shanghai on December 9, with a frequency of between one and two flights per week.
Furthermore, Bamboo Airways also unveiled on December 6 that the carrier had launched its first two flights from Hanoi to Tianjin, carrying onboard nearly 400 passengers.
Hoang Ngoc Thach, deputy chief commercial officer of Bamboo Airways, revealed that the airline has completed its first direct flight from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Tianjin, adding that the move provides fresh impetus for the opening of regular air routes between the two nations in the near future.
According to a representative of Tan Son Nhat Airport Services Company (SASCO), next year will see a wave of international visitors following China’s decision to relax pandemic prevention measures.
The representative pointed out that since December, the company has opened two waiting lounges covering a total area of more than 400 square metres, of which one is specifically reserved for Muslim passengers.
Nguyen Dinh Hung, general director of Saigon Ground Services Joint Stock Company (SAGS), said China's reopening to visitors will provide a basis for local firms to devise their business plans next year, with the number of international visitors expected to record robust growth moving forward.
