Khanh Hoa named emerging hotspot for cultural and eco-tourism

VOV.VN - New York-based magazine Travel and Tour World has spotlighted Khanh Hoa, a south-central province of Vietnam, as an emerging destination where tourists can immerse themselves in cultural heritage and explore unspoiled natural landscapes.

The article highlighted Khanh Hoa as an ideal location for travelers seeking a luxurious beach getaway that blends history, nature, and comfort. The magazine notes that the province is undergoing a dynamic transformation, launching a wave of new tourism products aimed at attracting both domestic and international visitors.

With the recent administrative consolidation of neighboring Ninh Thuan province, Khanh Hoa is now home to a wealth of natural and cultural assets, making it “a rising star for the nation’s cultural, eco, and community-based tours.”

Travel and Tour World also emphasized that the merger between the two provinces has created opportunities to strengthen regional collaboration and build a cohesive tourism ecosystem.
“This strategy enables the province to optimize its resources, draw more international tourists, and drive robust economic development. By restructuring its tourism management and promotional systems, Khanh Hoa aims to transform itself into a vibrant destination offering unique and memorable experiences to all visitors,” the article stated.

Among Khanh Hoa’s top attractions is the rich cultural heritage of the Cham people. Visitors can explore architectural landmarks such as Po Klong Garai Tower, Ponagar Temple, and Bau Truc Pottery Village through immersive cultural tours.

Beyond heritage experiences, Khanh Hoa is expanding its tourism offerings to include beach holidays, culinary excursions, agritourism, and nature-based adventures. The magazine recommends pristine coastal sites like Nha Trang, Bai Dai, Vinh Hy, Binh Tien, and Ninh Chu, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports amid crystal-clear waters and golden sands.

Culinary tourism is another highlight, with the province offering fresh seafood and regional specialties.Visitors are encouraged to sample local cuisine at bustling markets and scenic beachfront restaurants.

Agritourism also plays a key role in the province’s diversification efforts. “Visitors can walk through the beautiful Cam Lâm orange plantations or explore the vineyards around Phan Rang. They can engage in hands-on encounters, for instance, picking fruit or learning the steps for making local specialties, leaving them with lasting impressions and an insider’s sense for local life,” the magazine wrote.

For nature lovers and adventure seekers, Khanh Hoa offers a wealth of ecotourism opportunities. Top destinations include Chuua Mountain National Park, a designated UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, and the scenic Mii Dinh Sand Hill.

The article also noted ongoing partnerships between Khanh Hoa and nearby regions to promote multi-destination tours. Collaborative efforts with the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City aim to introduce new travel products and routes, such as Nha Trang–Ninh Hai–Da Lat and Nha Trang–Mui Dinh–Mui Ne, giving travelers the opportunity to experience beaches, highland plateaus, and forests in one journey.

By strengthening ties among travel businesses within and beyond the province, Khanh Hoa is poised to develop fresh, appealing tourism products that encourage longer stays and higher visitor spending.
“These initiatives will help position Khanh Hoa as a leading tourism hub in Vietnam, blending cultural depth, natural beauty, and innovative experiences,” the magazine concluded.
