Indian media reveals seven tourist magnet destinations in Vietnam

VOV.VN - The Times of India has published an article revealing seven Vietnamese destinations that can be considered as tourist magnets.

According to the media outlet, Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a jewel in northern Vietnam.

“Known for its emerald waters and towering limestone karsts, the bay is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike,” it shares.

It suggests that visitors can embark on cruises that wind through the bay, offering stunning views of its 1,600 islands and islets. Activities include kayaking through hidden lagoons, exploring caves such as Sung Sot, and swimming in secluded beaches which all provide an unforgettable experience.

Meanwhile, Hanoi is a vibrant city where ancient traditions and modern life coexist harmoniously.

“Its Old Quarter, with its narrow streets and colonial-era architecture, offers a glimpse into the city’s past. The city’s bustling markets, street food stalls, and serene lakes, like Hoan Kiem Lake, add to its charm,” says the media outlet.

Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam, is also named on the list. Visitors can explore local sites such as the Forbidden Purple City, the grand Imperial Palace, and numerous royal tombs which are scattered across the lush landscape.

According to the Times of India, Hoi An is best known for its lantern-lit streets, traditional wooden houses, and vibrant markets, all of which offer a glimpse into Vietnam’s past.

“The town’s unique blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and French influences is evident in its architecture and cuisine,” it reveals.

It recommends that travellers can visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, stroll along the Thu Bon River, and indulge in local specialties such as Cao Lau and Banh Mi.

Another famous destination is Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon.

“It’s bustling streets, towering skyscrapers, and vibrant nightlife offer a stark contrast to the country’s historical sites,” introduces the media outlet.

Key attractions include the War Remnants Museum; the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon; Ben Thanh Market; and Bui Vien Street, a popular spot for shopping, dining, and experiencing the southern city’s energetic vibe.

Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for its extensive cave systems and stunning karst landscapes.

The Times of India notes that the park’s most famous attraction is Son Doong Cave, the world’s largest cave by volume, which features its own ecosystem and weather system.

Other notable Vietnamese caves include Paradise Cave and Phong Nha Cave, both of which are renowned for their impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Last but not least is the Mekong Delta which a sprawling network of rivers, swamps, and islands, offering guests a unique glimpse into rural life along the Mekong River.

According to the Times of India, visitors can take boat tours through the delta’s winding waterways, explore floating markets, and visit traditional villages.

“Highlights include the Cai Rang Floating Market, where vendors sell fresh produce from their boats,” it concludes.
