Indian couple opens Da Nang’s 2026 wedding tourism season

VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang has welcomed and supported the wedding of an Indian couple with more than 250 guests, marking the opening of the city’s wedding tourism activities for 2026.

On February 5, the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center said the wedding was organised as part of the city’s programme to attract destination weddings in 2026.

The ceremony took place on February 2 and 3 at Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An. The bride, Shreya, and the groom, Ayush, held a multi-day celebration combining a coastal resort setting with traditional Indian rituals such as Gauri Pooja, Sehrabandi and Baraat.

According to the tourism promotion centre, the event highlighted the integration of destination scenery with distinctive cultural practices, creating a notable setting for wedding guests.

Upon the couple’s arrival at Da Nang International Airport, the city arranged a welcome with congratulatory messages displayed on LED screens in the arrivals area, while also assisting with customs procedures for wedding equipment and luggage.

Representatives of the centre presented flowers and souvenirs to the couple, alongside cultural activities including traditional musical performances.

A silent fireworks display held at the wedding venue was introduced as a new feature of Da Nang’s 2026 wedding tourism programme, adding a visual element to destination wedding events.

The couple said they were impressed by the reception and support provided by the city during their stay.

Looking ahead to 2026, Da Nang will continue promoting the brand “Da Nang – Where Happiness Begins,” focusing on destination weddings, honeymoons and related activities to extend visitor stays and increase tourism spending. The programme will adopt more flexible support arrangements, place greater emphasis on local cultural experiences and offer services adapted to different markets, with silent fireworks identified as a distinctive feature.

The city is also strengthening public-private cooperation, linking tourism businesses, wedding planners and airlines, while expanding the use of digital platforms for promotion and communication.

In 2025, Da Nang supported more than 50 destination wedding events from key markets including the US, Australia, India and overseas Vietnamese communities. In the first quarter of 2026, major hotels and resorts such as Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, Shilla Monogram Danang, Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An and Furama Resort Danang have reported strong demand and bookings for destination weddings.
