Ho Chi Minh City welcomes over 1.6 million foreign visitors in first quarter
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City welcomed over 1.6 million foreign visitors in the first quarter of this year, marking an 18.2% increase from the same period in 2024, the municipal Department of Tourism announced on March 25.
Meanwhile, the number of domestic holiday-makers hit over 8.5 million throughout the reviewed period, up 6.3% on-year.
In March alone, the number of international tourists to the southern city stood at 590,784, whilst domestic tourists reached 2.9 million, marking annual increases of 22.8% and 2.8%, respectively.
Moving forward, the municipal Department of Tourism will continue to introduce tourism products as part of efforts to attract more and more tourists.
The southern metropolis has also introduced 50 graphic images of iconic structures and symbols depicting notable destinations around the city and has unveiled a series of short films promoting local tourism.
