HCMC Tourism Festival attracts visitors, boosts summer travel demand
VOV.VN - The 22nd Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival, themed “Vibrant Summer Fest,” concluded at September 23 Park on April 5, wrapping up four days of lively activities and strong visitor engagement.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Pham Huy Binh, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, noted the event not only expanded in scale but also generated a clear market impact, helping stimulate travel demand ahead of the summer peak season.
Visitor numbers were estimated at several hundred thousand, with attendance spread evenly throughout the day and surging during evenings and weekends.
Revenue from tour sales, travel services and tourism-related products was estimated at VND120 billion (approximately US$4.7 million), highlighting strong consumer interest.
Around 1,000 tourism products were showcased at the festival, with discounts of up to 50%, alongside promotional campaigns, giveaways and lucky draws.
On digital platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, organisers rolled out more than 100 posts, short videos and clips, reaching nearly 1.9 million users and generating close to 40,000 interactions from businesses, residents and visitors.
These figures underscore the strong outreach of the 2026 festival and reinforce efforts to promote Ho Chi Minh City, and Vietnam in general, as a dynamic, friendly and globally connected destination.
Notably, the active participation of content creators on digital platforms helped amplify the event’s visibility, with diverse and creative content formats effectively engaging younger audiences.
The festival’s outcomes further affirm Ho Chi Minh City’s role as a key tourism hub in Vietnam. Beyond serving as a gateway for travel, the city is increasingly becoming a focal point for new ideas, partnerships and tourism development models.
With current growth momentum, the city’s tourism industry is expected to continue expanding, contributing to economic growth and enhancing Vietnam’s position on the regional and global tourism map.
