HCM City set to relaunch helicopter sightseeing tours
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is set to relaunch helicopter sightseeing tours with fares starting from around VND 3 million per passenger, with the first flights expected to take off in March 2026.
On January 20, Nguyen Minh Man, Deputy General Director of Vina Group International Travel JSC, the operator of the helicopter tour (Saigon Skyline). said the company has completed the development of four new flight itineraries offering aerial views of the city. The tours are intended to diversify experiential tourism products and lay the groundwork for the development of specialised offerings in Ho Chi Minh City.
Under the plan, the helicopter sightseeing products will comprise four tour options, with flight durations ranging from 15 to 60 minutes. Prices will range from approximately VND3 million to VND18.8 million per passenger, inclusive of helicopter charter costs, take-off and landing fees, navigation services, fuel and passenger service charges.
The highlight product is the “Saigon Skyline” tour, a 60-minute flight linking Ho Chi Minh City’s urban landscape with Vung Tau’s coastline and the Can Gio mangrove forest. Along the route, passengers can view landmarks such as Tam Thang Tower, Nghinh Phong Cape, Hon Ba Island, Can Gio, Phu My Bridge, the Saigon River, and the Ben Nha Rong-Bach Dang area from above.
The operator said it is continuing to finalise one-day and two-day tour programmes departing from central Ho Chi Minh City, combining helicopter flights with sightseeing, leisure stays and local culinary experiences. Alternative activities are also being considered for visitors who choose not to participate in helicopter flights.
According to the plan, the tours will be officially announced in late January or early February 2026, with regular flights scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, operating in morning and afternoon time slots, and serving both domestic and international visitors.
Previously, in November 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said it was working with aviation and travel operators to accelerate preparations for the relaunch of helicopter sightseeing tours.
The product, first introduced in 2022, is seen as an initial step in developing a range of aviation-based tourism products, as the city targets 11 million international visitors and 50 million domestic visitors in 2026.
