Hanoi plans fireworks display tonight in celebration of 80th National Day
VOV.VN - Hanoi is scheduled to hold a fireworks display on the evening of August 10 as part of the art and political programme “The Fatherland in Our Hearts” to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

The fireworks show is due to take place at 10 p.m. at the Formula 1 racetrack area in Tu Liem ward near My Dinh Stadium. The show will last eight minutes with 300 high-altitude fireworks and 60 low-level fireworks racks.
The programme “The Fatherland in Our Hearts” is set to begin at 8 p.m. on the same day at My Dinh National Stadium. It will feature a lineup of well-known artists, including People’s Artist Thu Huyen, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, pop singers such as Pham Thu Ha, Tung Duong, Vo Ha Tram, Ha Le, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Toc Tien, Thanh Duy, Suboi, Dong Hung, alongside the Oplus group.
In addition to the August 10 programme, the Hanoi People’s Committee will also hold fireworks displays on the evening of September 2 at five locations - Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, and West Lake. These sites will feature both traditional fireworks and artistic pyrotechnic performances, lighting up the skies above the capital.
The ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2) will take place at 6:30 a.m. on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square, combined with a military parade organised by the Ministry of National Defence. Around 30,000 participants are expected, not including those in the parade formations.
To prepare thoroughly for the anniversary and parade activities, a preliminary rehearsal will be held at 9:00 p.m. on August 27, and the final rehearsal at 7:00 a.m. on August 30.
