Hanoi rolls out vibrant tourism activities during April 30-May 1 celebrations
VOV.VN - Hanoi is set to offer a wide range of cultural, entertainment and eco-tourism experiences during National Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), aiming to attract both domestic and international visitors.
Across the capital, cultural and tourism sites will host exhibitions, performances and interactive experiences to welcome residents and visitors, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
In the city centre, a series of exhibitions and heritage-themed showcases will take place, including art displays inspired by lotus imagery associated with President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Guom Information and Culture Centre, and an exhibition about cultural preservation and dissemination of social sciences knowledge at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, among others.
Hospitality businesses have also introduced promotional programmes, including discounts and service packages, to stimulate travel demand during the peak holiday period.
A major highlight this season is West Lake Water Park, which is launching its “Summer Voyage 2026” programme. The venue has been upgraded with ocean-themed decorations, enhanced lighting and sound systems, and a range of entertainment activities aimed particularly at younger visitors.
According to organisers, visitors can enjoy live DJ performances, street circus acts, interactive games and on-site giveaways throughout the holiday. Facilities such as dining, rest areas and storage services have also been improved to ensure convenience and safety.
Beyond the urban core, Hanoi is expanding tourism offerings to suburban destinations such as Ba Vi, Soc Son and Son Tay, promoting eco-tourism, community-based tourism and agricultural experiences while easing pressure on central areas.
Festive activities will be held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism from April 30 to May 3. A key highlight will be the highland market in Lai Chau province which recreates the distinctive cultural space of ethnic minority communities. Besides the Hau Doong ritual of the Giay ethnic group, the buffalo worship of the Lu ethnic group, along with the H’Mong flute music and traditional folk games will be re-enacted.
With a wide range of activities in place, Hanoi’s tourism industry aims to enhance service quality and meet growing travel demand, reinforcing the city’s image as a safe, friendly, quality and attractive destination.
