Hue opens Imperial Citadel for night tours during upcoming holiday peak
VOV.VN - The central city of Hue will roll out a series of major cultural and tourism activities during the upcoming April 30–May 1 holiday period, led by the “Mystical Imperial Palace” programme scheduled for April 25–28.
The programme will open the Imperial Citadel for nighttime visits, offering immersive experiences featuring live performances and reenactments of royal court culture. As a highlight of the Summer Festival themed “Shining Citadel” in Hue, the event is free and open to the public.
During this year’s holiday period, Hue is expected to welcome around 389,000 visitors. Travel agencies have introduced a range of new tourism products, including river tours along the Ngu Ha River and experiential trips to Tam Giang Lagoon, catering to diverse visitor demand.
The city’s tourism sector is also working with relevant agencies to strengthen price monitoring, ensure security and environmental hygiene, and improve service quality at tourist sites.
Dinh Manh Thang, chairman of the Hue Tourism Association, said local businesses are prioritising service quality and added value over price discounts.
“For the April 30 holiday, we are not stimulating demand through price cuts but through quality and added value. For example, we are adding amenities, partially supporting transport and guides, and offering some complimentary short tours for nearby experiences. Hotels are also upgrading services to encourage longer stays and help visitors enjoy more of Hue’s tourism offerings,” he added.
