Goat meat with lemon juice among world’s Top 36 goat dishes

VOV.VN - Vietnamese boiled goat meat with lemon juice (Dê tái chanh) has been placed among the Top 36 goat dishes in the world by TasteAtlas, a website dedicated to discovering fresh ingredients, traditional dishes, and authentic restaurants.

The specialty hailing from Ninh Binh province was placed at 28th position in the list.

The dish is made using goat meat boiled with lemon juice. Other common ingredients include chili peppers, lemon leaves, garlic, pepper, and sesame, the website wrote.

The meat must be thinly sliced, fresh, and just lightly boiled so that it doesn't lose its sweetness, it added.

TasteAtlas suggested that the goat meat be accompanied by figs, green bananas soaked in vinegar, and soy sauce for dipping on the side. First place in the list went to Sate kambing of Indonesia, a type of satay prepared with goat or mutton as the main ingredient.

This was followed by Seco de cabrito of Peru, Tassot of Haiti, Curried goat and pigeon peas of Trinidad and Tobago, and Birria of Mexico.
