Foreign visitors to Hanoi beat yearly target in just nine months
VOV.VN - The capital of Hanoi has welcomed 3.2 million foreign arrivals over the past nine months, beating its yearly set target of receiving 3 million arrivals, reported the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
The nine-month figure represented a fourfold increase compared to the same period last year, said the department.
The local tourism industry also served 15.7 domestic holidaymakers, up 20.2% year on year.
Overall, it welcomed 18.9 million domestic and foreign arrivals in nine months, up 36.5% year on year.
Hanoi has been highly appreciated by international tourism organizations, ranking among the most attractive destinations in the world. On September 6, 2023, the city continued to be recognized as Asia’s Leading City Destination in 2023, alongside Asia’s leading city break destination and Asia’s leading city tourist board by the 2023 World Travel Awards.
Dang Huong Giang, director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said the city has designed new tourism products and organized numerous attractive events to lure visitors. In addition, it has launched communication campaigns to promote Hanoi as an attractive tourist destination.
