Ethiopian Airlines launches new Hanoi–Bangkok route

VOV.VN - Ethiopian Airlines has officially launched a new route connecting Hanoi and Bangkok, marking a further expansion of its presence in Southeast Asia.
The announcement was made at a ceremony held at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi on April 8.

The route has been in operation since March 30, 2026, offering passengers enhanced connectivity between the two regional hubs.

Flights on the Hanoi–Bangkok route are operated using wide-body Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, providing modern onboard services, competitive fares and generous baggage allowances of up to 46kg (two pieces) plus 7kg of carry-on.

The new route builds on the airline’s earlier milestone of launching direct flights between Hanoi and Addis Ababa in July 2025, underscoring Vietnam’s growing importance as a key market in the region.

Ethiopian Airlines said it will continue working with Vietnamese partners to expand cooperation, promote trade, tourism and cultural exchange, while investing in green aviation technology and increasing flight frequencies.

The carrier currently operates a fleet of 168 aircraft, serving 145 international and 23 domestic destinations, and is a key member of Star Alliance. It has also been named “Best Airline in Africa” by Skytrax for eight consecutive years.
