Phan Thiet squid specialty named among world’s best by TasteAtlas
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s sun-dried squid (mực một nắng), a signature dish from Phan Thiet, has been ranked among the top 58 squid-based dishes worldwide by global culinary guide TasteAtlas.

The local delicacy duly ranked 20th with a rating of 4.1/5 stars.
TasteAtlas described the local seafood as a traditional dish which consists of sun-dried squid. A large, fresh squid is sun-dried for a day before then being grilled over hot coals.
If the heat gets too high, then the squid will become overcooked, hard on the exterior, but rare inside, the website wrote.
TasteAtlas revealed that during the cooking process the squid turns yellow and develops a unique aroma. When served, the dried and grilled squid is shredded and is usually accompanied by fish sauce with chili for dipping the pieces into it. The culinary website also recommended that foodies pair the dish with a cold beer on the side.
Furthermore, the Vietnamese dish fermented fish noodle soup (Bún mắm) was placed in 26th position.
Other dishes included on the list were Kalamar tava of Turkey, Fritto misto of Italy, Ceviche mixto of Peru, Sashimi of Japan, and Bulgogi of the Republic of Korea.
