Direct Van Don-Ho Chi Minh City air route to open in mid June
VOV.VN- A direct air route connecting Van Don in the northern province of Quang Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to begin operations on June 15, 2026, according to Van Don International Airport.
The airport said Sun PhuQuoc Airways officially launched ticket sales for the route from May 5.
The route will operate four weekly flights from June 15 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between Van Don International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Flights departing from Ho Chi Minh City are set to take off at 3:30 p.m. and land in Van Don at 5:30 p.m. Return flights from Van Don will depart at 6:10 p.m. and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 8:30 p.m.
The launch of the direct air route is expected to provide additional travel options between northeastern Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City as demand for travel, tourism and trade between the two areas continues to rise.
Van Don International Airport currently serves as an aviation gateway to northeastern Vietnam, while providing convenient connections to destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay and Co To Island.
The new direct route to Ho Chi Minh City will help shorten travel times while improving connectivity between major economic and tourism centres in Vietnam.
