Da Nang launches tourism promotion programme in India

VOV.VN - The Da Nang Department of Tourism on February 17 held a tourism promotion event in Ahmedabad, India, to boost tourism development between Da Nang and Ahmedabad, and introduce the "Enjoy multi-experience Da Nang" journey to Indian visitors.

At the event, Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, highlighted that the increasing number of Indian visitors to Vietnam demonstrates the growing appeal of Da Nang as a destination for Indian tourists.

“We plan to organize more promotional activities for Da Nang in other Indian cities, including producing videos focusing on wedding tourism to showcase Da Nang’s attractions,” she said.

During the event, 21 Vietnamese companies presented new tourism products tailored to the preferences of Indian tourists.

The event also featured a space for enhancing business connections, screening films about Da Nang tourism, and providing the latest information about the direct flight from Ahmedabad to Da Nang.

The highlight of the programme was a fashion show featuring the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai collection by Miss Universe India 2024, Rhea Singha.

Da Nang is increasingly popular with Indian tourists, particularly for destination weddings. Since 2022, India has become one of the top five international tourist markets for Da Nang.

In 2024, Da Nang welcomed over 222,000 Indian visitors, accounting for 5.3% of the city's total international visitors and nearly 50% of the total number of Indian tourists to Vietnam.

To enhance convenience for tourists, Da Nang’s tourism sector has been developing specialized product packages and incentive programs for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and wedding tourism.
