Con Dao island resumes tourism activities
VOV.VN - Con Dao Island district in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau is set to restore tourism activities and welcome back visitors arriving by air from now until February 15, 2022.
Trinh Hang, director of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Department of Tourism, said the southern locality has already reopened to welcome tourists from areas at low COVID-19 risk in the province from December.
In the immediate future, Con Dao will only receive domestic visitors by air, whilst also considering restoring high-speed passenger train routes to the island as of February 15, 2022.
At present, several accommodation establishments located on the island have reopened to welcome visitors, including the Secret Con Dao and Nicobar Hotel.
Furthermore, a number of lodging facilities have also deployed several stimulus and promotional programmes aimed at attracting tourists at the end of the year and into early 2022.
A representative of Six Senses Con Dao went on to reveal that the resort has provided visitors with a diverse range of services, such as fresh seafood, free yoga, health rehabilitation, and festive activities in order to welcome the Christmas and New Year period. In particular, visitors are able to experience releasing Con Dao turtles into the sea.
Moreover, a number of tourist attractions on the island, such as Hang Duong cemetery, Con Dao temple, Phu Hai relic, and Con Dao museum is set to reopen as of December 24.
Visitors will be required to register in advance, while simultaneously abiding by the 5K message set out by the Ministry of Health.
