Bamboo Airways retains top spot for on-time performance
VOV.VN - Bamboo Airways has maintained its top position in terms of the most on-time performance among the top three largest domestic airlines during the past 11 months of the year, according to newly-released statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
Most notably, the airline’s on-time performance rate reached 94.5%, while the rate of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air stands at 94.9% and 93.2%, respectively.
Among the three largest domestic airlines, Vietnam Airlines recorded the highest rate of flight cancellations with 3.8%, while the rate of Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways stood at 0.9% and 0.3%, respectively. As a result, Bamboo Airways is the airline with the lowest cancellation rate.
Furthermore, Bamboo Airways also had the lowest delay rate at 3.2%, while the rate of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air was 5.1% and 6.8%, respectively. In addition, the late take-off rate of the entire industry was 5.5%, a drop of 4.1% against the same period from last year.
Flight delays and cancellations of local airlines can largely be attributed to weather, technical, and commercial factors.
As a means of meeting the diverse travel needs of passengers, along with facilitating greater business, trade, and investment activities nationwide, Bamboo Airways has increased flight frequency on more than 50 domestic routes since November.
With regard to its international flight network, the airline is in the process of ramping up its plan to expand its flight network to strategic markets, including the United States, Europe, Australia, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia.
In line with the carrier’s plan, the airline is expected to officially put regular direct commercial flights into operation which will connect the nation with the US, including a Ho Chi Minh City – San Francisco route, as well as linking Hanoi-based Noi Bai Airport and Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport to the UK’s Heathrow Airport from the end of 2021 right after receiving permission from the Government.
