The May 5-7 state visit to India by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam carries significance as the two nations mark the 10th anniversary of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, said Prof. Anmol Mukhia from South Asian University.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam’s state visit to India from May 5-7 will create new momentum and shape a framework to elevate Vietnam–India ties to a new level in the next phase, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong.

The relationship between Vietnam and India has grown significantly over the past 50 years, with India becoming one of the leading partners of Vietnam, Ambassador to India Pham Sanh Chau told Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
