VOV.VN - Outgoing US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink expressed his optimism about the promising future of the US-Vietnam relations during a press briefing in Hanoi on April 7, reviewing his working term in Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Ha Kim Ngoc held phone talks with Ami Bera, a Democratic congressman representing California and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, and Nonproliferation at the House Foreign Affairs Committee, on April 5.

The Vietnamese Embassy in the US has repeatedly contacted with and canvassed authorities and parliaments of the US and its states for ensuring security and safety as well as the right to access to full services for Vietnamese citizens and Vietnamese Americans in the US, given increasing discriminations against the Asian American community.

The US Trade Representative (USTR) office has blacklisted Vietnam's well-known markets in its 2020 review, for reasons of counterfeiting goods. Dong Xuan Market in Hanoi and Ben Thanh Market in HCM City have been named on the USTR blacklist.
