President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) Nguyen Dinh Khang on December 7 suggested the VGCL and the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU) step up online exchanges amid the complex developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Vietnam – Khat vong binh yen” (Vietnam – Desire for peace) programme was held on October 31 night to honour the contributions and sacrifice by collectives, individuals, especially those working on the frontline such as medical workers and Trade Union officials, in the country’s COVID-19 fight.

Trade union organisations under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) have so far spent more than VND1.22 trillion (US$53.38 million) from the VGCL's budget and raised donations to help over 1 million members, particularly workers, to overcome COVID-19-related difficulties.
