VOV.VN - Vietnam's textile and garment sector sustained its growth trajectory in the first half of 2025 despite global uncertainties and new reciprocal tariffs imposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump, while maintaining the upward trend seen since the latter half of 2024.

VOV.VN - With export earnings of more than US$16 billion, garments and textiles are one of the leading industries for export turnover in the nation, with most firms securing signed export orders by the end of the fourth quarter of this year and even until the first quarter of next year.

Textile and garment exports may reach US$47 - US$48 billion in the positive scenario for 2023 and US$45 - US$46 billion in the lower-case scenario, said the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).

VOV.VN - Vietnamese textile and garment exports surged by 24.3% to over US$26 billion during the first eight months of the year, with the export value of the products reaching US$4 billion for the first time in August alone, according to data given by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

The textile and apparel industry, which managed to survive three waves of COVID-19 thanks to its decision to produce face masks and personal protective equipment, will focus on sportswear and yarn, according to the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group.
