VOV.VN - Remittances to Ho Chi Minh City declined significantly in the first quarter of 2026, reaching approximately US$2 billion, down 15.6% from the previous quarter and 16.9% year on year, according to the State Bank of Vietnam’s Regional Branch 2.
Remittances sent by overseas Vietnamese to Ho Chi Minh City are expected to surge about 10% in 2024 from a record high of US$9.46 billion in 2023, according to Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)’s Ho Chi Minh City Branch.
VOV.VN - Overseas remittances to Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s largest economic and financial hub, rose more than 35% in the first quarter of this year to nearly US$2.87 billion, according to the State Bank of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City branch.
The flow of overseas remittances to Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to reach about US$8.92 billion in 2023, up 35% year on year, said Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)’s Branch in HCM City Nguyen Duc Lenh.
Remittances to Ho Chi Minh City are expected to reach US$7 billion in 2023, an annual increase of about 6-7%.
